Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Botanical Pesticides from Pelargonium graveolens
Original language description
Supercritical fluid extraction was used for isolation of volatiles from P. graveolens to reach maximal biological aktivity of extracts. The extraction yields increased with increasing density of CO2 and the extract with high concentration of volatiles was achieved at SFE conditions 9 MPa, 50°C. The acute and chronic toxicity of isolates were tested on model organism Spodoptera littoralis. The isolate from hydrodistillation was more effective in terms of acute toxicity than other extracts due to their concentrations of volatile compound.
