Application of Silica-supported Sorbents into Coal Derived Syngas Desulfurization Field for Clean Coal Technologies Development
Original language description
Silica-supported sorbents with Cu, Mn or Fe metal oxide have been synthesized by impregnation method. The physical properties of the sorbents were analyzed by XRD and chemical composition by ICP-AES. The experiments on sulfur capture used simulated syngas (1 vol. % H2S, 30 % CO, 10 % H2, 5 % CO2, N2 for balance) and fixed bed reactor with solid sorbents. The results have shown, that the iron based sorbent had the best sulfure-capture ability and capacity (8.17 g S/100 g of sorbent). With increasing CO2concentration (5 ? 20 %) the sulfure capturing ability decreased (from 8.17 to 5.8 g S/100 g of sorbent). After 5 cyclic tests the sulfur-capture ability of the iron ?based sorbent decreased only very slightly. It seems the sorbent is promising for cleancoal technologies related gas cleaning processes.
