The role of modes in asymptotic dynamics of solutions to the homogeneous Navier-Stokes equations

  • Original language description

The paper presents several new results on the asymptotic behavior of modes in strong global solutions to the homogeneous Navier-Stokes equations. For a fixed strong global solution it shows the existence of one particular eigenvalue (of the Stokes operator) such that the modes associated with this eigenvalue prevail asymptotically in the solution for time approaching infinity.
