  • Original language description

    The vertical co-ordinate of the logarithmic turbulent velocity profile origin yo is an important characteristic of turbulent flow in conduit with rough walls. Because length and height of saltation depend strongly on the position of the velocity profileorigin, it can be determined by comparison of experimental values of particle saltation and their numerical simulation. The parameter y0 can be expressed as function of saltation length or height, or the boundary Reynolds number, and it was shown that itgrows with increasing bed roughness and shear velocity.
