Vibration in microtubules.
Original language description
Tubulin molecules in protofilaments of microtubules are arranged according to the principles of translation symmetry. Vibrations in microtubules are analysed using a method similar to that in solid state physics. Acoustic and optical branches of the vibration modes have frequencies in the frequency range below 1 GHz.
