Digestibility of phytate phosphorus in broiler chickens determined by isotachophoretic method.
Original language description
Ten broiler chiokens were housed individually and fed a concentrate feed containing wheat, maize and soybean meal. In the 3rd week of life, faecal output of ingested total and phytate phosphorus (P), and total N was estimated. Phytate P in the feed and faeces was determined using a capillary isotachophoretic method. The capillary isotachophoretic method is a valuable tool for studies on P metabolism in poultry.
