Diet-dependent shifts in ruminal butyrate producing bacteria
Original language description
The influence of a host?s diet on Butyrivibrio and Pseudobutyrivibrio populations was studied by competitive PCR. Specific primers for both groups were designed and competitive PCRs developed. Four cows with different diets were used in this experiment.Obtained results suggest that high fiber intake actually increases the Butyrivibrio numbers in the rumen, whereas high-energy food additives suppres the Butyrivibrio counts. The Pseudobutyrivibrio counts also have changed during the experiment but without any significant relation to the host?s diet.

Vliv diety na bachorové, butyrát produkující bakterie
