The attitude and approach of authorities and university itself to these members of professorial staff which were of Jewish origin is painted against a background of the development of the German University in Prague during years of occupation, 1939-1945.Some succeeded to leave in time and assert themselves in free countries, others were at first from the university superseded, later mostly deported to the Theresienstadt ghetto, eventually farther to other concentration camps, also to the "exterminatory" ones. The article gives not only surveys or lists of these purges (as a whole, and after university faculties), but shortly also dooms of individual personalities.

Na pozadí vývoje Německé univerzity v Praze během okupačních let 1939-1945 je vykreslen postoj a postup úřadů i univerzity samé k těm členům profesorského sboru, kteří byli židovského původu. Některým se podařilo ještě včas odejít a uplatnit se ve svobodných zemích, jiní byli z univerzity napřed odstraněni, pak většinou deportovaní do terezínského ghetta, případně dále do jiných, také vyhlazovacích koncentračních táborů. Článek uvádí nejen přehledy těchto čistek (celkově i podle fakult), ale stručně i osudy konkrétních osob.
