Proposal for unified nomenclatural rules for Cyanobacteria vs. Cyanophytes: ?Cyano-Guide?
Original language description
Cyanophyta/Cyanobacteria are named under both the Botanical Code and the Bacteriological Code and this is a source of many nomenclatural problems. The present situation concerning the nomenclature of Cyanophyta/Cyanobacteria under both Codes was discussed in the framework of a roundtable held at the 16th IAC symposium. The participants strongly called for a unified nomenclatural approach for these microorgan-isms, acceptable both to botanists and bacteriologists. A set of recommendations towards the final goal of a consensus nomenclature were presented and discussed.

IAC symposia. Předloženýnávrh vychází z požadavku vytvořit jednotná nomenklatorická pravidla pro sinice, přijatelná pro botaniky i bakteriology.
