Metaphysics of Universals in John Poinsot's Material Logic

  • Original language description

The paper deals with the presentation of the moderately realistic conception of universals of the Baroque Thomist John of St. Thomas. It brings in three different kinds of universals, scilicet the material, metaphysical and logical universal, which correspond to three different stages of nature as such. The Author evidences that John's doctrine, it is main features, comes from the conception of Thomas Aquinas, found in his treatise "De ente et essentia".
