The conference focused on the theme of time in Africa (the experience of the past and the future) within the dynamics of global conflicts, peace and development in Africa. The conference was a joint project of the Centre for Global Studies of the Institute of Philosophy at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the School of Oriental and African Studies at University of London. It was organized within the framework of the research program “Global conflicts and local contexts” of the AV21 Strategy.
