The Circulation of the Pseudo-Aristotelian Secretum secretorum in the scholarly Centers of the Medieval Czech Lands
Original language description
The study traces how the pseudo-Aristotelian Secretum secretorum was disseminated and used in medieval Bohemia. Of the many settings where this book appeared in the Middle Ages in the Czech lands, the study focuses on intellectual centres, first and foremost the University of Prague, founded in the mid-14th century. Attention is also paid to the presence of the Secretum secretorum in the libraries of ecclesiastical institutions and the schools that belonged to them.
