This is the first English translation of Evald Ilyenkov’s “On the State of Philosophy [Letter to the Central Committee of the Party]”, conducted by Monika Woźniak and Andrzej W. Nowak. Intended as a letter to the Central Committee of the CPSU, Ilyenkov’s text reaffirms his commitment to dialectics while expressing his disillusionment with the state of Soviet philosophy, particularly in light of the growing influence of cybernetics.
