  • Original language description

    Interactions of echinomycin with double-stranded DNA attached to hanging mercury drop electrode resulted in high voltammetric signals of echinomycin suggesting a strong binding to DNA by bis-intercalation at the electrode surface. Under the same conditions interaction of echinomycin with single-stranded DNA produced almost no signal. This behavior is in a agreement with strong binding of echinomycin to double-stranded DNA and a very weak binding to single-stranded DNA observed earlier in solution.
