In this paper we describe isolation and characterization of a novel genetic element called A1/A2 repeat. An interesting properte of this newly described repeat is its occurence in the intergenic spacer region of 35S rRNA gene and in satellite fraction ofdifferent chromosomes of Nicotiana tomentosiformis. Based on this data we have postulated a hypothesis on evolution of satellites by spreading of sequences from rDNA intergenic spacer into non-rDNA positions.

V této práci popisujeme isolaci a charakterizaci genetického elementu nazvaného A1/A2 repetice. Zajímavou vlastností tohoto elementu je jeho současný výskyt v intergenového mezerníku 35S rDNA a též v satelitní frakci na různých chromozomech Nicotiana tomentosiformis. Na základě výsledků jsme postulovali hypotézu o vzniku nových satelitů z genů kódujících ribosomální RNA cestou transpozice, rekombinace a amplifikace.
