Faithful inheritance of cytosine methylation patterns in repeated sequences of the allotetraploid tobacco correlates with the expression of DNA methyltransferase gene families from both parental genomes

  • Original language description

Complementary DNA sequences of three main plant DNA (cytosine-5) methylatransferase genes (MET1, CMT3, DRM) were cloned and sequenced from Nicotiana sylvestris and Nicotiana tomentosiformis, maternal and paternal progenitors of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) respectively. All methyltransferase parental genes had been inherited in tobacco where they were additively expressed in all examined tissues. Methylation analysis of several repetitive sequences showed similar levels of 5-methylcytosine in tobacco andits progenitor species.

Spolehlivá dědičnost vzoru methylace cytosinů v repetitivních sekvencích allotetraploidního tabáku koreluje s expresí genových rodin DNA methyltransferas z obou rodičovských genomů

  • Czech description

Komplementární DNA sekvence tří hlavních rostlinných genů DNA (cytosin-5) methylatransferas (MET1, CMT3, DRM) byly klonovány a sekvenovány z Nicotiana sylvestris a Nicotiana tomentosiformis, mateřských a otcovských progenitorů tabáku (Nicotiana tabacum).Všechny rodičovské geny byly v tabáku zděděny, a zde byly aditivně exprimovány ve všech zkoumaných pletivech. Methylační analysa několika repetitivních sekvencí ukázala podobné hladiny 5-methylcytosinů v tabáku a jeho progenitorových druzích.
