Arrangements of human telomere DNA quadruplex in physiologically relevant K+ solutions

  • Original language description

In this work we studied the arrangement of the human telomere DNA quadruplex in the presence of physiological concentrations of ions. We showed the polymorphy of the quadruplex arrangement: depending on precise sequence studied, number of repeats, molecular crowding conditions, ion type and DNA concentration the human telomere DNA forms antiparallel, parallel and hybrid (3+1) quadruplex. Herewith, we explained possible reason of distinct results observed in various laboratories using different structural methods.
