Original language description
The simultaneous determination and speciation of nitrite and nitrate has increasing attention in recent years. The developed method allows the sensitive determination of both nitrite and nitrate in water. The FIA system is fully automated. The method combines the non-toxic photolytic conversion of nitrate to nitrite and the sensitive chemiluminescent detection of nitrite. Efficiency of nitrate conversion to nitrite is 56. The detection limit of nitrite and nitrate is 2 nM and 4 nM, respectively.
