A study od sample mineralization methods for arsenic analysis of blood and urine by hydride generation and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.
Original language description
Mineralization procedures for blood and urine suitable for the determination of arsenic by hydride generation AAS (HG AAS) are studied on model samples, containing arsenic species (As(III), As(V), DMA, MMA, AsB, AsC). Results are utilized in biological monitoring investigations. Two preparation procedures for urine give arsenic recoveries close to 100 by HG AAS: a) dry ashing at 420C with magnesium nitrite and b) microwave oven decomposition with ammonium persulfate. For blood samples, arsenic recoveries by HG AAS near 100 is found using dry ashing , wet digestion in microwave oven gives recoveries very near 100 for As-inorg. and MMA only, for other species the recovery was less than 20 in spiked blood samples.
