Original language description
This contribution brings comprehensive description of analytical capillary isotachophoresis. The fundamental theory of isotachophoresis, instrumentation used and principles of qualitative and quantitative analysis are clearly presented. Further, basic rules and transparent guide for the selection of stable isotachophoretic systems including zones of analytes are elucidated. Finally, a concise description of advanced techniques is presented, where isotachophoresis is hyphenated into multistage on-line separations, including ESI-MS detection. Last but not least, illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the analytical power of this technique.
