Transition from athermal to thermally activated detachment of dislocations from small incoherent particles in creep of an Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si alloy reinforced with silicon carbide particulates.
Original language description
The creep behaviour of an Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si alloy reinforced with silicon carbide particulates was investigated at temperatures 773 to 823 K. The creep is not associated with a true threshold stress and is interpreted in terms of the thermally activated detachment of dislocations from small particles incoherent with the composite matrix.
