High temperature service embrittlement of EUROFER´97 steel
Original language description
The aim of the work was to describe effect of long-time thermal ageing on the microstructure and fracture properties of the Eurofer´97 steel. The ferritic-martensitic reduced activation steel Eurofer´97 is candidate structural material for in-core components of proposed fusion reactors. The embrittlement of the high-chromium ferritic-martensitic steels implies important limitation for use of these materials. Properties of the Eurofer´97 steel were investigated in as-received state and in state after long-time thermal ageing. Isothermal ageing (550°C/5.000 h) was applied to partially simulate service condition in ITER.
