Application of small punch test for evaluation of mechnival properties of newly developed ODS steels
Original language description
Small punch test (SPT) is one of techniques using miniaturised samples, thin discs of thickness up to 0.5 mm and diameter up to 10 mm. Whereas the method has been proposed as a comparative method, its certain weakness is complicated clarification of the relations between SPT and conventional tests, e.g. uniaxial tensile test (UTT). The aim of this contribution is to evaluate mechanical properties of steel with different variants of oxide dispersion-strengthening and to correlate SPT results with UTT. Five variants of 9Cr1W ferritic steel (Eurofer type) prepared by mechanical alloying and consolidated by Spark Plasma Sintering method (non-ODS variant and four ODS variants) were used as an experimental material. It was found that the regression of Yield and Ultimate strength by Fy/h0^2 and Fm/(um*h0) are suitable for estimating UTT properties of all different variants of 9Cr1W ODS steels respectively.
