Original language description
The paper describes a possibility of writing numbers, marks and other symbols on the surface of welded pieces using the electron beam. The electron beam is magnetically deflected over the rectangular region of material surface. In the first part of the paper a method is described, where the beam power stays constant during the whole process and no blanking is used (continuous mode), only the velocity of the beam-spot movement is controlled. The low velocity results in melting on the surface. If the velocity is high enough, the surface remains unaffected. The remelted area forms a visible copy of the original image. The second part of the paper concerns the case, when the power of electron-beam is modulated (pulse mode). A conception of a special electronic unit is described. This unit could change voltage on the Wehnelt electrode of the electron gun very fast, so that short beam-pulses can be obtained.
