Original language description
Strongylid nematodes in great apes tend to co-occur in communities comprising nematodes of more genera/species. Few dominant genera seem to be found in great apes, however, more species have been reported, especially due to on-going research on strongylids of mountain gorillas in Rwanda, Uganda and DRC. As the taxonomy is unsettled and reference sequences of well determined specimens are missing, most of the older reports should be treated with extreme caution and further research is warranted.n
