    Rock blasting in overlaying strata is one of the most important active rockbursts prevention means in condition of Czech part of Upper Silesian Coal Basin. The one of goal of that measure is destress rock mass without attendance of employees. Rock blasting in overlaying strata has had a long tradition in Ostrava-Karvina Coalfield and its use increases. Present evaluation of the effect of rock blasting comes out from comparison between registered seismic energy and theoretic energy evolved from blastingexplosive. This approach has been introduced in 90?s of last century on base of research of available seismic data. Present methodology takes into the consideration of natural conditions to implement of rock blasting.
