This paper presents various income data on four Central and East European countries, as well as on Austria and Germany. First, it compares the changes in distributions of earnings and household income since the communist period. Second, it presents the attempts that have been made so far to analyse the connections between them. Third, it presents the analysis of changing links between earned and disposable income in CEE countries on the base of statistical surveys.
