The introduction the the edited issue of journal Umění/Art to commemorate 150 years since the birth of Czech-Austrian art historian Max Dvořák, and to commemorate 100 years since the edition of his „Kunstgeschichte als Geistesgeschichte“, for the first time issued in 1924. The issue is focused on the new formulations of Max Dvořák´s Renaissance in order to bring in today´s art history the new look on Dvořák´s thinking itself.
