Diffusion Parameters of the Extracellular Space in Human Gliomas.
Original language description
The diffusion parameters in temporal cortical tissue resected during surgical treatment of temporal lobe epilepsy (control) were compared with those in brain tumors and tumor slices were histopathologically classified. Tumor malignancy grade strongly corresponded to an increase in extracellular space volume, which was accompanied by a change in extracellular space structure manifested by an increase in diffusion barriers for small molecules.
