Genetic polymorphisms and possible gene-gene interactions in metabolic and DNA repair genes: Effects on DNA damage

  • Original language description

We investigated in a central European population the association between genetic polymorphisms in several genes coding for xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes (CYP1A1, CYP2E1, EPHX1, GSTP1, GSTM1 and GSTT1) and DNA repair genes (XPD, XPG, XPC and XRCC1) andthe levels of single-strand breaks (SSBs) in peripheral blood lymphocytes. A combination of EPHX1 activity genotype with that of either XPD or XPG significantly modulated SSB levels resulting in a three-fold difference between the protective and the adverse genotype-combination.

Genetické polymorfismy a možné mezigenové interakce genů kódujících biotransformační a DNA reparační enzymy: Účinky na poškození DNA

  • Czech description

U zdravé populace střední Evropy byly studovány vztahy mezi genetickými polymorfismy genů kódujících biotransformační (CYP1A1, CYP2E1, EPHX1, GSTP1, GSTM1 a GSTT1) a DNA reparační enzymy (XPD, XPG, XPC a XRCC1) a hladinami poškození DNA (SSBs) v periferálních lymfocytech.
