During fertilization sperm surface proteins interact with saccharide parts of the glycoprotein layer (ZP) of the ovum. To study the nature of the saccharide parts of ZP we used mannan containing mannose that was bound to Sepharose and after that the affinity was carried out and mannose-binding proteins were isolated. These proteins might probably participate in primary binding of the sperm with the ovum

Během fertilizace povrchové proteiny spermií reagují se sacharidovými částmi glykoproteinové vrstvy (ZP) vajíčka. K prostudování vlastností sacharidových částí ZP jsme využili manan obsahující manózu vázaný na Sepharosu a poté jsme provedli afinitní chromatografii a izolovali jsme proteiny vázané na manan. Tyto proteiny by se mohly pravděpodobně účastnit primární vazby spermie na vajíčko
