    The human genome, similarly as other mammalian genomes, is formed by a mosaic of regions homogeneous in their GC content. The article brings an overview ofthe whole-genome isochore structure based on the draft of the human genome sequence, and enables toview the mosaic structure of the genome at the DNA sequence level.
