We describe here the transplantation of chicken male germ cells into sterilized recipients and successful restoration of spermatogenesis in recipients. Dispersed testicular cells from donors were transplanted into the testes of recipient cockerels sterilized by gamma irradiation. We have observed repopulation of the recipient seminiferous epithelium by heterologous sperm in about 50% of transplanted males. Dispersed testicular cells from both prepubertal and adult donors were capable to restore spermatogenesis and male fertility producing progeny expressing donor genes.

Czech description
V této práci popisujeme transplantaci samčích germinálních buněk do sterilisovaných recipientů a úspěšnou obnovu jejich spermiogenese. Pro transplantaci do varlat kohoutů strilisovaných zářením gama jsme použili dispersi testikulárních buněk z genetickynepříbuzných dárc?. U 50% transplantovaných kohoutů jsme pozorovali heterogenní repopulaci spermiogenního epitelu, obnovu spermiogenese a produkci potomstva, které exprimuje geny dárce. Při obnově spermiogenese a samčí fertility se účinně uplatňují testikulární buňky z prepubertálních i pohlavně dospělých dárc?.
