The role of miRNAs and endogenous siRNAs in maternal-to-zygotic reprogramming and the establishment of pluripotency
Original language description
A review article discussing roles of RNA silencing in establishment and maintenance of pluripotency. A significant part of the transition of an oocyte into pluripotent cells of the embryo occurs in the absence of transcription. Therefore, post-transcriptional mechanisms (including RNA silencing) are important for proper reprogramming and establishment of pluripotency. The article is summarizing current data and is discussing possible roles of RNA silencing in establishment and maintenance of pluripotency.
