Original language description
Determining of fluorescence properties of many compounds in parallel requires many spectral scans which requires automation. We were faced with a task of measuring fluorescence properties of a library of 123 fluorescent and colored compounds and finding compounds that change their fluorescence properties the most upon complexation with cyclodextrins. At our disposal for this was the EnSpire plate reader with fluorescence measurement and spectral scanning capabilities. Unfortunately, the software of the machine only supports measurement according to completely predefined protocols which do not allow the use of different parameters for each well of the plate or successive measurements with changing parameters. We have developed and made available a software enabling to change the measurement parameters and run the assays automatically from scripts.
