Molecular subgroups of medulloblastoma. Development of a novel gene mutagenesis and protein tagging strategy

  • Original language description

Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor in children. In recent years, there has been a steady improvement in understanding the genetic and molecular heterogeneity of this tumor, which revealed at least four distinct subgroups of medulloblastomas, each with unique transcription profiles, DNA alterations and clinical outcome. This review summarizes the recent advances in molecular subgroup classification and the associated gene mutations and copy number variations in medulloblastoma.
