The text is a contribution to the discussion on teaching anthropology in settings other than academic departments of anthropology. It looks at the situation of anthropology in Poland and critically addresses ways that it is included school curricula. The main part of the text is dedicated to teaching anthropology across disciplines, building on the example of teaching anthropology to university students of pedagogy/educational studies in Poland. the authors point to the possibilities of engaging anthropology with interdisciplinary dialogue and educational processes that are relevant for the nurturing of open societies, fostering the tradition of a public engaged anthropology.
