Study on Sports Organisers? Rights in the European Union. Final Report
Original language description
The Study on sports organisers' rights was prepared for the European Commission by a team that included members of the Asser International Sports Law Centre and Institute for Information Law, University of Amsterdam and correspondents from all EU memberstates. The study aimed at mapping the legal environment related to the ownership rights of organizers of sport competitions in the EU member states, especially with respect to: 1) the right to broadcast licenses for sports events in media, their exclusivity and the conditions, under which they are authorized to regulate the organization of sports events in stadiums, including persons entering the stadium and visual records (i.e. house rights), 2) the right to the intellectual property connected with TVand on-line broadcasts, 3) sports image rights, 4) questions related to sports bets.
