Effect of gamma-irradiation on strength of concrete for nuclear-safety structures
Original language description
Concrete applied for construction of nuclear power plant Temelin has been exposed to gamma-irradiation up to dose 600000 Gy. Depending on the level of irradiation, changes in strength, porous structure and phase composition of the concrete have been studied. It is found that irradiation lowers both the strength of concrete and volume of porous space. On the other hand, gamma-irradiation increases the ratio of calcite in the concrete. Observed effects are discussed with respect to safety of NPPs

Beton použity při stavbě jaderné elektrárny Temelín byl vystavěn gamma zárřní až do úrovne 600000 Gy. V závislosti na úrovni radiace jsme studovali změny pevnosti, porositu a složení betonu. Ukazuje se, že radiace snižuje pevnost a objem porozniho prostoru. Na druhé straně, gamma záření zvyšuje obsah kalcitu. Všechny pozorované jevy jsou diskutovány v ramci bezpečnosti provozu jaderné elektrárny
