    Magnetoresistance oscillations in GaAs/AlGaAs superlattices subject to in-plane magnetic fields

    The MBE-grown GaAs/AlGaAs superlattice with Si-doped barriers has been used to study a 3D-> 2D transition under the influence of the in-plane component of an applied magnetic field. Positions of van Hove singularities in the DOS agree excellenty with magnetoresistance oscillations confirming a simple tight-binding model describes adequately the magnetoresistance of strongly coupled semiconductor superlattices.

    Supermřížka GaAs/AlGaAs vypěstovaná technologií MBE byla využita ke studiu 3D - 2D přechodu pod vlivem paralelní složky vnějšího magnetického pole. Výsledky experimentu velmi dobře souvisí s výpočty hustoty stavů pomocí jednoduchého modelu těsné vazby.
