Detailed analysis of the cell-inactivation mechanism by accelerated protons and light ions

  • Original language description

Published survival data for V79 cells irradiated by monoenergetic protons, helium-3, carbon and oxygen ions have been analysed using the probabilistic two-stage model of cell inactivation. Three different classed of DNA damage formed by transversing particles have been distinguished. Probabilities of the single ions forming these lesions have been assessed in dependence on their linear energy transfer (LET) values.

Podrobná analýza mechanismu buněčné inaktivace urychlenými protony a lehkými ionty

  • Czech description

Pomocí pravděpodobnostního dvoustupňového modelu byla analyzována publikovaná data pro pravděpodobnost přežití buněk V79 po ozáření monoenergetickými protony a ionty 3He, uhlíku a kyslíku. V závislosti na hodnotě lineárního přenosu energie byly určeny pravděpodobnosti letálního a subletálního poškození buněk jednotlivými částicemi.
