    The (001) oriented surface of Fe-Ni alloy (bulk composition 64% Fe and 36%Ni) was studied both experimentally using STM and theoretically by means of first-principles calculations. The contrast observed in STM images is interpreted in terms of surface buckling and a distinct STS feature is attributed to a surface resonance

    Studovali jsme povrch (001) slitiny Fe-Ni (s objemovým složením 64% Fe, 36% Ni), a to experimentálně, technikou STM, i teoreticky, výpočty z prvních principů. Vysvětlujeme kontrast obrazu STM jako důsledek různé výšky atomu na povrchu. Nalezli jsme povrchovou rezonanci, která se projevuje charakteristickým maximem v STS
