    Neutron diffraction study of Pr0.5Ca0.5CoO3.-? (?=0 and 0.07)

  • Original language description

    Oxygen deficient sample of cobaltite Pr0.5Ca0.5CoO3-? (?=0.07) shows a non-uniform state in which ferromagnetic metallic phase coexists with a low-temperature phase of distictly smaller unit cell and insulating character. In the oxygenated sample (?=0),the ferromagnetism is suppressed and the sample is completely transformed to the low-temperature phase below 70 K. The different structures of the ferromagnetic metallic and paramagnetic insulating phases are attributed to the spin-state transition of Co3+/Co4+ ions.

  • Czech description

    Kyslíkově deficitní vzorek kobaltitu Pr0.5Ca0.5CoO3-? (?=0.07) vykazuje nehomogenní stav, v němž feromagnetická metalická fáze koexistuje s nízkoteplotní fází isolantního charakteru a se znatelně menší elementární buňkou. V nakysličeném vzorku (?=0) je feromagnetismus potlačen a vzorek se pod 70 K kompletně transformuje do nízkoteplotní fáze. Rozdílné struktury feromagnetické metalické a paramagnetické isolantní fáze jsou připsány spinovému přechodu iontů Co3+/Co4+.
