Possibility of X-ray pulse compression using an asymmetric or inclined double-crystal monochromator
Original language description
It is shown theoretically that the inclined (and also asymmetric) double crystal X-ray monochromators may be used for X-ray pulse compression if the pulse is properly chirped. By adjusting the mutual distance of the two inclined crystals it is possible to achieve a sub-fs compression of a chirped FEL pulse.
