Original language description
Mineral cronstedtite was newly formed by reaction of clay with iron at temperatures 60-90°C. Cronstedtite crystals of approx. micrometer size are pyramidal (more frequent) with a triangular base and conic with a rounded or hexagonal cross-section. The polytypes 2M1, 1M, and 3T have been identified by selected area electron diffraction (SAED) patterns and by automated diffraction tomography (ADT).
