Revisiting the Glansdorff?Prigogine criterion for stability within irreversible thermodynamics
Original language description
We analyze a thermodynamic criterion for the stability of nonequilibrium steady states proposed by Glansdorff and Prigogine. We show how it is related to the Lyapunov monotonicity and stability analysis, and to nonequilibrium extensions of the Clausius heat theorem. Some new stability conditions are derived.
