CVD diamond thin films – functional material for clean environment monitoring
Original language description
In this contribution, we show utilisation of thin diamond films as a functional material for monitoring of air and water pollutants. We show an integrated NO2 sensor based on a hydrogen-terminated nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) sensitive layer deposited on an interdigitated electrode structure. The gas-sensing properties of the hydrogenated NCD sensor with an interdigitated transducer electrodes were tested against a sequence of 50 ppm NO2 pulses.nThe presented gas-sensing properties of H-terminated intrinsic diamond and electrochemical response of boron doped electrodes to heavy metal contaminants predict diamond thin films as a functional material for real-time monitoring of environment.n
