Low-phonon materials for mid-infrared lasers
Original language description
In this work our attention is focused on the study of low phonon matrices including binary (Lu2S3) and ternary ARES2 (KLuS2) sulfides, and MPb2X5 (e.g. KPb2Cl5) and their doping with RE (e.g. Pr, Dy) to influence their optical properties. Further, it is aimed on the means of preparation of above mention materials consisting of various synthesis approaches, and their crystal growth by different methods including solid state crystallization and directional solidification from the melt using micro-pulling-down and vertical Bridgman methods. Characterizations of obtained crystal regarding their structural, thermal, optical, and luminescent properties will be presented.
