In order to solve these problems the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic approved a three-year project No. 130011370 under the title "Non-homogeneous railway track and its quality assessment. The principal project researcher is CTU Prague, the Faculty ofCivil Engineering, Department of Railway Structures, Doc. Ing. Hana Krejčiříková, CSc; co-researcher Komerční železniční výzkum s.r.o. Praha, Ing. Josef Turek and Ing. Antonín Vymětal. So as to determine the basic correlation between the geometric parameters of a track and its rigidity value, it is necessary to know a continuous rigidity formula along the whole length of a selected measured track section. Rail rigidity may be determined on the basis of the values of vertical deformation of rail loaded by definite vertical force.
