Bio - Mecanochemical Interactions at Cellular Level in Cortical Bone During the Bone Remodeling Cycle
Original language description
Biomechanical and biochemical processes mutually coexist in the course of remodeling processes. The objective of our research is to define and integrate biomechanical effects and biochemical processes that are characteristic for the bone corticalis remodeling, i.e. to determine the processes of creating a new, remodeled composite structure of the bone tissue. Each dominant alteration to the stress/strain state in the bone tissue has an influence on the speed of chemical reactions. The dominant effects of stress/strain state, i.e. relatively the most extensive impacts that occur repeatedly for a long time, are of fundamental importance. The impact of mechanical effects on biochemical processes can be formally and practically presented by means of stresstensors. The deviator of stress participates (through the deviator of strain) in the initiation of chemical reactions in the bone tissue. Shear components of the stress tensor cause the angular strains of the bone tissue micro-element
